Published results in product cases

The next table lists verdicts and settlements each firm or a news outlet has published. Amounts marked “firm-reported” come from the firm’s own website. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

Firm Published product result
Beasley Allen $162 million settlement over a 2021 van crash involving the wrong tires (firm-reported)
Motley Rice 2025 settlement of an ARC airbag death case before trial; amount not disclosed (firm-reported)
Schmidt & Clark Does not publish verdict or settlement amounts

Wisner Baum Johnson v. Monsanto (2018): $289.2 million award, reduced to $78.5 million. Pilliod v. Monsanto (2019): $2.055 billion award, reduced to $87 million

A large verdict in one case says little about the value of yours. Ask each firm about results in cases like your own.

Where each case type stands

The status of a case type shapes what a firm can do for you. For Roundup and hair relaxer, see the Roundup firms and hair relaxer firms pages. Airbags and pressure cookers are summarized here.

Airbags

  • ARC inflators. The ARC airbag MDL (MDL 3051) in the Northern District of Georgia had 24 pending cases as of Oct. 1, 2026. Most are economic-loss class claims, not injury suits. In 2023, NHTSA made an initial finding that ARC and Delphi inflators made through January 2018 have a safety defect. CBS reported that about 52 million inflators were affected. No final recall order had been issued as of May 2026.
  • Takata inflators. The Takata MDL (MDL 2599) had 78 pending cases as of Oct. 1, 2026. NHTSA reports at least 28 U.S. deaths tied to Takata inflators. In February 2026, about 225,000 more older Stellantis vehicles got a “Do Not Drive” warning.

If an airbag injured you or killed a family member, ask whether the firm handles individual injury and death claims, not only class claims.

Pressure cookers

There is no MDL or nationwide class action for pressure cooker burns. Each case is filed on its own. Of 292 federal suits filed from 2019 to January 2024, 133 settled out of court, according to Law Street Media.

Recalls can support a claim. On May 1, 2025, SharkNinja recalled about 1,846,400 Foodi OP300 pressure cookers because the lid can open during use. The recall cited 106 burn reports.

How to use this comparison

Start with your product. Cross off firms with “No page found” in that column, or call to confirm. Then compare fee terms and ask who would handle your case.

Talk to a lawyer about your state’s deadline early. Our guide on how to choose a defective product lawyer lists the questions to ask. For the four checks we used to compare firms, see the main firm list.
